  Race: Demon
  {Description: Evil hadn’t begun the day those Angels turned against God, it began during The Great Solitude. For centuries the Fallen Angels, sat within their prison, not only honing their talents but drowning within their thoughts and memories. With more time, came more hatred for what God did to them. With more time came God’s ruse of convincing mankind that evil truly existed and its name was Satan. Portrayed and slandered, Lucifer’s Rebellion was used as a story to warn mankind of going against God’s Will. Evil truly began when God gave Lucifer and the Fallen a reason to escape. A sense of purpose, with revenge on their mind, and their desire to reclaim Heaven.}
  
  Sub-Race: Devil
  {Description: Clever and well versed in the skills of conversation. The former angels acted as Generals during the War in Heaven. Skillfully managing the variety of strengths from all angels under their command. They take the most after Lucifer, always maintaining an air of calm and calculation. Though only the Devils have managed to balance ruthlessness and maintaining a level of awe that would only make others want to please them.}

  Strengths::
  
  1. Iron Will: Enhanced by the anger and need for revenge that fills her every waking moment, Kate's will has been forged in the fires of Hell, strengthened like folded steel. This ensures that she'll try to have the last word in every argument, will resent ideas that aren't her own, and will be very reluctant to apologize to someone, even if she knows she's in the wrong. It also enhances her race's natural resistance to illusion and enchantment spells.
  
  2. Deception and Persuasion: Kate is a consummate liar, and also uses her Allure ability to help persuade folks into doing what she wants.
  
  3. Natural Marksmanship: Over the centuries, Kate has practiced enough with various ranged weapons, including firearms, that she has acquired a high level of skill with marksmanship. Her success rate at hitting a target will vary based upon such factors as whether or not the target is moving, its size, and its distance from Kate. This does not mean she hits a target every time, just most of the time, if the conditions are right.

  5. Resistance to Alcohol: This is a benefit granted by Kate's Elemental Magic. Please view the Pyrokinesis section below.
  
  
  
  Weaknesses:
  
  1. Slight Build: Kate's small. Trapped in the body of a human woman by a Mage, she is limited to that human's physical attributes. While she CAN do a limited amount of body building, cardiovascular training, etc. there is only so much that can be improved by exercise. Therefore, Kate can easily be physically overpowered in hand-to-hand combat by a person who is larger than she.
  
  2. Vain: Kate loves all things beautiful, especially herself. Insults directed at her appearance will cause almost immediate, white-hot rage. So will being ignored, being treated without the respect she thinks she deserves, and a myriad of other imagined slights. This makes it easy for opponents to distract the woman or drive her into an unthinking rage, which may have a detrimental effect on any task she is attempting to complete - especially if that task requires a measure of finesse. Sometimes her stubborn streak can counteract this, but it takes a strong force of will to calm herself after she has been inflamed.
  
  3. Resents Authority: Kate may not be The Morning Star, but she resents anyone who implies that she is their subordinate. The woman likes to feel in charge of a situation when she enters it, and the presence of a superior who feels the need to ACT superior will swiftly get Kate's nerves on edge. The potential for infractions/punishments due to insubordination in the demon hierarchy is high.

• Biography

  ((OOC Note: Please do not use this information in RP unless you have taken the time to learn it through RP.))
  
  Short History: As a demon, Kate was one of those unlucky souls trapped in hell for what felt like an eternity. Initially, she awaited the eventual escape from Hell with calculated patience. She made plans for revenge, envisioned the pain and suffering of her Angelic enemies, and tried to hold on to the slender thread of sanity that was all that would make the waiting tolerable. She drilled herself on spells of Fire and Enchantments of Allure and Charm, the better to increase her power. But time passed without the anticipated release from Hell, day after day, hour after hour - and slowly the demon began to slip. Her once careful plotting became finger-pointing, and placing the blame on the shoulders of her enemies. Before long, she had blamed her captors for every slight, every hardship she had ever known in her long, demonic existence -- and an all-consuming hatred for the Angels and their followers began to burn within her.
  
  
  
  Once the escape from Hell was made, Kate let her rage have free reign. The bloody swath of death and destruction that followed in her wake was enough to motivate someone to devise a way to stop her. Time and again they clashed, the Mage and she, until it became apparent that he was not powerful enough for a full frontal assault. Instead, he devised a plan to attack her from afar. A powerful spell that, using blood magic and a willing sacrifice, would trap the demon in a mortal form, thus making it possible for her to be killed.
  
  He had not planned on such a burning hatred, the Iron Will that drove it and the years she had spent in learning mastery of her Magic. The Mage was able to trap her soul in the body he had prepared for it, but there his successes ended. In her blind, unthinking fury at being trapped, the demon lashed out with her Elemental Magic until the Mage was no more than a burnt cinder. He had gone up in flames like dry tinder soaked in oil, his screams a delicious melody to Kate.
  
  
  
  It wasn't until much later that the demon realized she would have been better off leaving the Mage alive. As the creator of the spell that bound Kate in her human form, he was the best candidate for reversing it and setting her free. But she could no more undo his death than she could the effects of his spell, and that was the end of it. So, once the human host had healed, Kate set off in search of someone who COULD reverse the spell. But she was forced to learn the limits of her human body, forced to satisfy its urges for food and drink, for sleep and sex. And, oh, how she pushed herself! How she strove to increase the health and fitness of the little human body until it was at its peak performance! Her Iron Will and her Vanity would not permit Kate to give up hope, to let the body fall into disrepair or depression.
  
  Now, Kate is as you see her: physically fit, fully aware of the limits of her human body, and now harboring a growing hatred for Mages after what they had done to her.

• Pyrokinesis Stats

  FIRST: What is a "Prep Post"? A prep post is a post that my character spends Preparing for the magic or ability that they wish to use. The more powerful the ability or spell, the more prep posts are required, and the more opportunity your character will have to interrupt the spell. Smaller abilities or magic require little or no preps, especially if they do not cause much physical damage to a person or object. I will generally mark the current prep post number and the total preps I need for success after every post.
  
  Sample Prep Post turnaround for "Flare":
  
  Me: Kate felt the bite of cold on her exposed flesh, and shivered. She was NOT going to sit out here, freezing her ass off if she could avoid it. Grumbling, she gathered wood, scraps of cloth, anything that would burn easily and piled it in the street. Her eyes took on a distant look as she focused, and seemed to be staring right through the asphalt and into hell. {1/2}
  
  You: Billy agreed that it was cold. He was not going to protest to a roaring campfire at which to warm himself!
  
  Me: In the span of a couple of heartbeats, the wood and kindling flared into life. The cheerful, welcoming warmth of flame sprang up and greedily licked at the wood. Satisfied, Kate edged closer to the flames to warm her hands. {2/2}

  Pyrokinesis:
  
  Spark: A basic, small spark. Usually intended to set highly flammable matter aflame with minimal effort. Can be used to ignite anything from a campfire, to a stack of parchment, a vat of liquor, or the lint in someone's coin purse. Kate occasionally uses it to light candles and lanterns. The amount of damage done depends upon how flammable the target is.
  Preps: One
  Note: This attack can't really be interrupted except by a physical blow to the head or a stab wound. It is the first and simplest ability Kate learned, which means she's been using it for years and does not need complete concentration to make it work.
  
  Kindle: Slightly stronger than Spark, Kindle can be used to ignite more stubborn materials, such as damp or green wood, damp clothing, or materials like leather.
  Preps: One and a half (meaning one full prep post, then prep and attack in the next post, if concentration is not broken.)
  
  Flare: Flare is the first of a number of larger attacks. It is an offensive attack that it something like a larger version of Spark, in that it's usually meant for igniting that which easily burns. The difference between Flare and Spark is that Spark is subtle, and usually starts a slow burn (in the case of wood or clothing). Flare could be considered insta-campfire, or something of that nature. Most commonly used to get things burning right away.
  Preps: Two
  Note: This ability is preceded by the smell of smoke in the air.
  
  Blaze: Larger than Flare, this ability is more dangerous because it can burn some things that any previous ability could not. Wet wood will burn, softer metals like gold and lead will melt, etc.
  Preps: Three
  Note: This ability is preceded by the smell of smoke in the air. This is also the first ability that makes a dent in Kate's stamina/energy levels. After one or two of these Blaze attacks, Kate will begin feeling fatigued. Three or four might cause the woman to break into a sweat, five or more cause physical exhaustion and a dramatic increase in appetite.
  
  Conflagration: An immense burst of flame more suited to destroying entire buildings than for localized attacks. The heat generated from these flames can cause serious damage, burns and even melt the harder metals, like iron.
  Preps: Four
  Note: This ability is preceded by the smell of smoke in the air. At most, Kate can use this ability twice in one day, though doing so will drain almost all of the woman's physical energy, stamina, etc. She will almost a full day's sleep in order to recover, accompanied by a mountain of food and drink to replenish her system.
  
  Inferno: The largest of Kate's Pyrokinetic abilities. She has used it only twice in her life - once, as a child, when her life was threatened, and once as an adult in the same circumstance. This ability is a last resort for Kate, because it destroys almost everything it touches, including stone, metal and potentially Kate herself. She suffers horrible burns to her extremities. The burst of flame engulfs everything within a radius of ten feet, including other races - innocent or not.
  Preps: Six, all uninterrupted.
  Note: This ability is preceded by the smell of smoke in the air. Using this ability even once will result in loss of consciousness that lasts between one and three days, after which Kate will emerge looking emaciated, weak and vulnerable, as though she had just battled a terrible illness. Her body will have consumed all of its stores of fat in addition to any food she was fed during her unconsciousness.
  
  Other Related Abilities:
  
  Flash: This ability uses the very oxygen present in the air as fuel, creating a split-second flash of firelight. It is meant to startle, confuse or otherwise distract an attacker. Most often, Kate uses it to ruin the night-sight of an assailant while keeping her own, thus providing an advantage over her adversary. Kate can also create a Flash inside someone's lungs, effectively scorching them and burning up the oxygen inside, which can be momentarily disabling.
  Prep: One - same post.
  
  Snuff Flames: In contrast to being able to start fires, Kate can also use her ability to -stop- them. When starting flames, Kate's mind increases the speed of atoms to generate heat. When stopping flames, her mind slows the atoms until they cool and the flames cease.
  Prep: Relative to the size of the flame. See preps for abilities above. Example: Stopping a Spark would take one Prep.
  
  Heat Resistant: Kate's body is naturally heat resistant. She can tolerate being nearer to fire than other races, and when burned, she heals more rapidly and completely than most. This is why she is not covered in burn scars. This enhanced healing only works with burns, however, not with more mundane wounds.
  
  Increased Metabolism: Due to increased metabolism, the effects of alcohol are reduced. Because of Kate's affinity with fire through her Elemental magic, the woman essentially "burns off" the liquor in her system at a more rapid rate. This isn't to say she cannot get drunk, it simply takes a larger quantity of alcohol to achieve noticeable effects.

• Enchantment Stats

  Allure:
  
  Using mental influences, the Allure ability can make Kate seem incredibly attractive to people of either gender. At lower levels, it can attract only those who would already find her appealing, causing their original desire to increase dramatically.
  
  Those who would not ordinarily have been attracted to the woman will take higher levels of force from this ability, and that means more effort on Kate's part.
  
  She could, if she so desired, drive any thought BUT the one of the target's wildest sexual fantasy out of a person's mind, but this would generally only be used in extreme circumstances. It has, and could do so again, gotten the woman out of life threatening situations.
  
  This ability works much like the Pyrokinetic skill listed above. The more prep posts spent on Allure, the higher the chance the target will be affected.

  Example: With 3 preps, those who were only slightly attracted to Kate WITHOUT the allure will now find that she is suddenly causing them to be distracted by the level of attraction they have for her.
